FrostI watched the clouds. I figured it out.
ZipWait β clouds come from our POND?!
PointyThat's the longest path I have ever heard of.
Frost had been watching the clouds β and figured it out!
FrostThree steps. Evaporation, condensation, precipitation.
ZipI am writing this ALL DOWN!
PointySo the water goes up to the clouds and comes back down?
Frost reveals the water cycle diagram!
FrostPrecipitation. The water comes back down as rain.
ZipThe pond is filling back up! The cycle never stops!
PointyI am drinking from the sky. This is incredible.
Rain falls β the water comes back down!
FrostThe water cycle recycles water forever. The same water, over and over.
ZipSo every raindrop was once in our pond! We are part of a giant system!
PointyI have learned so much today. Also still hungry but that is fine.
The water cycle never stops β Earth recycles water forever!
πΊοΈ π Zip's Mission for you
Your turn β screen goes OFF!
TRY THIS AT HOME! Make your own water cycle in a cup! Fill a clear cup with water, place a small marble or pebble in it, cover tightly with plastic wrap, and put it in the sun. Watch for 1-2 hours: water evaporates, condenses as droplets on the plastic, and drips back down! You just built a mini water cycle. Track your marble β where did the water go? It went up, made clouds on the plastic, then fell back down! Draw a picture of your water cycle with arrows: evaporation β condensation β precipitation.
